Roberson's #16 is our 16th formula in a line of variations on what is basically a mix of a Maroger-like base with pure Congo copal. Our flagship product is Roberson's #22 (the 22nd and final variation). That adds wonderful handling qualities to the paint. Often requested by die-hard fans, Roberson's #16 is considerably more difficult to make. Many consider the smooth handling and faster drying to be preferable to #22. For those aficionados, we once again offer Roberson's #16 in the 50ml tube. Because of the delicate manufacturing process involved, we cannot guarantee that this will remain in production. Roberson's #16 is being reprised by popular demand. Like it's cousin, Roberson's #22, it has smooth handling and dries to a hard finish. Formula #16 contained considerably more Black Oil and Congo Copal. The result is a soft, pale amber gel that is exceedingly smooth and dries to a rich finish.
