We took our grisailles off the market as we awaited the upgrading of our new display test spectrometer (which is basically a light meter on steroids). The reason for the upgrade was to insure that the paints corresponded exactly to the Munsell Neutral Gray Scale.

The perfect "mixing black." Ground in Special Aged Oil, this has a creamy soft texture that responds to the brush unlike paints ground in common oils.

Jaune Brilliant #1 is a mid-to-high-Value color. It is very opaque and as is typical of all Jaune Brilliants, a smooth handling paint.

Jaune Brilliant #2 is the pinkish range of this pigment. Like #1, this is a mid-to-high-Value color. It is very useful in adding to warm pink fleshtones. #2 is also useful in rendering yellow metals and in some landscape passages, especially of arid scenes.

Jaune Brilliant Rich is exactly that…rich. While it looks similar to ochre, when placed next to one, the difference in depth is apparent. This yellow is a good mixer with middle-Value colors. Mixed with a variety of reds, it is of great use to figure and portrait painters.

This is the finest Naples Yellow pigment we have ever encountered, heavy, brilliant and smooth handling. The paint is ground in our Special Aged Oil to add even greater handling qualities (and as an aid to permanence).

Zinc white ground with hollow optical nanospheres. This is a real breakthrough in paint making, with companies like Mercedes Benz applying the new nano-technology to produce paints that are brighter, deeper, richer and more resistant to surface damage.

The cleanest and most powerful of all blues. Used with discretion, this is a very useful blue, especially as a mixer in landscapes.

This is an unusual yellowish shade of Pthalo Green. Ground in our Special Aged linseed oil for unparalleled handling, this Pthalo is not stringy and produces smooth, not streaky glazes.

Pyrrolo Red is a modern organic pigment of exceptional clarity and brilliance. Transparent, yet a good mixer, lightfast and smooth handling. Very powerful tinting strength.

All of the qualities of Alizarin and then some. Unlike Alizarin Crimson, this modern "high performance" pigment is absolutely lightfast.

Raw Sienna ground in our Special Aged linseed oil for exceptional handling. This selected pigment is not gritty, but ground to a soft, creamy smoothness.
