All of the qualities of Alizarin and then some. Unlike Alizarin Crimson, this modern "high performance" pigment is absolutely lightfast. It may be the purest pigment of all time in that a thin wash of it is identical to being mixed with white. That is, the undertones and overtones are identical. A clean, jewel-like ruby with none of the off-shade brownish quality we see in so much Alizarin.
