Jaune Brilliant #2 is the pinkish range of this pigment. Like #1, this is a mid-to-high-Value color. It is very useful in adding to warm pink fleshtones. #2 is also useful in rendering yellow metals and in some landscape passages, especially of arid scenes. All variations of genuine Jaune Brilliant dry normal-to-fast and form a strong paint film. All handle with exceptional smoothness and are not remotely gritty.

True Jaune Brilliant is a lead compound and should not be confused with the mixtures, or “HUE” colors. These are prime pigments calcined at different temperatures to produce a variety of variations of hue. They are extremely useful on the palette, allowing for subtle transitional tones that remain clean and brilliant. Clean yellows that are not high Chroma, like cadmiums, are rare because most are proprietary blends, and those are either dull or grow dull in mixture.
