RARE Congo copal 24% concentrate. One of the world's great painting mediums. 2 ounce jar.

Congo copal has been virtually unavailable for years. The political problems in Congo and Sierra Leone make it impossible to import any of this hardest of all copals. We were able to purchase the stock of an old violin manufacturer and use it to make a marvelous painting medium and concentrate.

Mixed with Flake White, Congo Copal Concentrate produces those thick Rembrandt-like ropes of built up paint. Mix a bit more and the paint becomes fluid. Mix even more and the paint changes yet again to become thick and pastose. Congo Copal Concentrate and Flake White make for very unusual, yet controllable, effects.

Congo Copal Concentrate makes paint dry to a rich glossy sheen, improves handling and can be made to dry quickly with the addition of Lead Napthanate. For the knowledgeable painter, Amber varnish is not even in the same league with Congo.

Slowly cooked into oil. No solvents were used in making Congo Copal Concentrate. Very little is needed to produce special effects in your paint.
