Grisaille (greez-eye) is the traditional French term for gray paints. Because they are usually used for underpainting, these grisaille paints have been formulated to be smoother, leave less texture, are soft, buttery and capable of producing very fine detail with no dilution.

We have changed the formula. The idea was to produce a soap that formed an ionic attachment to the heavy metal particles (lead, cadmium, etc.) that painters inevitably get onto and into their hands. (Read more in the detailed description.)
